TLU’s Chemistry CHAOS Night: A Delicious Blend of Science Returning Tonight

The annual Chemistry CHAOS Night event at Texas Lutheran University promises to be a night of delicious fun and exploration. This year’s theme, The Chemistry of Food and Cooking, will engage participants of all ages in hands-on activities that demonstrate the science behind everyday foods.

Dr. Alison Bray, professor and chair of the chemistry department at TLU, emphasizes the importance of understanding the processes that occur in the world of food and cooking. She believes that by exploring these wonders through experimentation, we can gain a deeper appreciation for the science behind our daily meals.

Chemistry CHAOS will feature a variety of activities designed to teach kids from kindergarten through high school about the science behind food and cooking. Attendees can make biopolymers in the form of rice paper sushi wraps, conduct candy chromatography, and taste liquid nitrogen ice cream. These activities will not only be fun but also educational, helping kids develop an interest in science at an early age.

The event is open to everyone who is interested in learning more about the science behind food and cooking. It takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Jackson Park’s Student Activities Center. Hosted by TLU’s Pi Rho Chemistry Club, Chemistry CHAOS is free for the public to attend. Come join us for a night of delicious discovery and explore the exciting world of food and cooking science!
