Torry from WSJ to report on Western U.S. economy

Harriet Torry, a seasoned reporter with the Wall Street Journal, has been assigned to cover the Western U.S. economy from her new base in Houston, Texas. Before this assignment, she was based in Washington, D.C., and focused on consumer coverage of the U.S. economy. Prior to that, she covered the Federal Reserve and has been with the Journal for 14 years. She began her career as a financial reporter at the paper in Frankfurt before moving to Berlin to cover the German government and economy during the eurozone sovereign debt crisis.

On the other hand, Chris Roush is an experienced business journalist who has held various positions at renowned publications such as Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune, and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is also an author of two books – “Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication” and “Thinking Things Over,” a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster. Previously, he served as the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill.
