Special solar eclipse event offered at the Kentucky Science Center

The Kentucky Science Center in Louisville is preparing to host a special event in celebration of the upcoming solar eclipse. On April 8th, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, visitors can attend this free event and participate in a range of activities that are designed to educate and entertain. In addition to the activities, a limited number of eclipse glasses will be distributed for free with admission to the event.

The Kentucky Science Center’s 50,000 square feet of exhibits will be open for exploration during the event, and guests will have access to special programming that will be set up throughout the galleries. These activities will focus on various topics related to the eclipse, such as eclipse-viewing safety, gravity principles, cultural interpretations of eclipses and constellations, and a chance to view the partial eclipse.

Some of the exciting activities that guests can enjoy at the event include creating pinhole cameras, streaming live coverage from NASA, and participating in educational activities that teach about gravity, UV rays, and more. Visitors can also opt to watch documentary screenings of Journey to Space 3-D in the center’s four-story theater, which explores NASA’s Space Shuttle program, the International Space Station
