Memorial Health receives grant for cancer initiative, saving lives | News, Sports, Jobs

The Memorial Health System has partnered with the American Red Cross to collect and process blood products for cancer patients in need. Sharon Kesselring, the executive director of the American Red Cross of the Ohio River Valley, expressed excitement for this partnership. This grant will help support the Blood Saves Lives Fighting Cancer initiative, which is aimed at providing relief from symptoms of chemotherapy treatments.

The American Red Cross collects blood throughout the entire region and not just within the Memorial Health System. Julie Dye and Jill Deming presented the grant on behalf of the foundation at Memorial Health System’s first blood drive of 2024. The next grant cycle opens on July 1, and more information can be found online at mhsystem.org/Foundation.
