The Pittsburgh Steelers have been busy shoring up their quarterback depth chart recently. After signing Russell Wilson as their backup and trading for Justin Fields, the team has now acquired their third-string quarterback. General Manager Omar Khan confirmed that the Steelers have signed 28-year-old Kyle Allen, who has been in the NFL since 2018.

Allen started 12 games for the Carolina Panthers in 2019, showing enough potential to remain on NFL rosters as a backup quarterback. He has also spent time with Washington, Houston, and Buffalo throughout his career. The addition of Allen gives the Steelers three quarterbacks on their roster, with the possibility of adding a fourth camp arm in the future.

In addition to signing Kyle Allen, the Steelers have also added defensive end Dean Lowry to their roster. Lowry previously played for the Minnesota Vikings and appeared in nine games with four starts last season. With these recent acquisitions, the Steelers are looking to bolster their roster and add depth to key positions as they prepare for the upcoming season.
