Recently, fifth graders from Julian Thomas Elementary School in Racine were recognized for their outstanding participation in the nearly two-month long Fresh Air Science Fair. The fair began on February 1st, with students forming teams and submitting projects that brought clean air pollution concepts to life. Each entry was judged based on the quality of research, data analysis, and the creativity of their presentation.

The award ceremony for the Fresh Air Science Fair took place on Wednesday, March 27th, with Milwaukee Bucks mascot Bango and the trampoline dunking team, the Rim Rockers, in attendance. During the assembly, winners were announced and prizes were awarded. The first-place team members received three tickets to the April 10 Bucks game against the Orlando Magic, transportation to and from the game, and concession stand vouchers to use at Fiserv Forum during the game. Second and third-place winning teams received Bucks merchandise.

The Fresh Air Science Fair is a collaborative effort between Modine, Milwaukee Bucks, Racine Unified School District, and United Way of Racine County. This partnership allows students to explore important scientific concepts in a fun and engaging way. A big congratulations to all the winners of this year’s Science Fair!
